Micro-chipping is the most effective way of permanently identifying a pet through it's life. A unique identification number is registered with each animal, and the owners details are placed on a national database. If you would like your pet to go abroad, it is also one of the requirements that you need in order to ascertain a pet passport. At present, the cost of chipping your pet is only £15.00 making it worthwhile whether you intend to go abroad or not.
